Master of Ceremonies

Getting married at your venue is now a really popular choice for couples getting married. There’s a real advantage of getting married at your wedding venue, convenience is obviously an advantage. Venues do a really good job at weddings, however one aspect is often times overlooked. That’s the Master of Ceremonies role. Typically this task is handed to the duty function manager on your wedding day. Someone who you’ve probably never met before, doesn’t know you and won’t be aware he/she is your MC until they turn up for their shift that morning. However, they do a adequate job as master of ceremonies but they are limited to what they can do as they don’t know you and their up-most priority is getting rooms organised, staff in position and food out before chef throws plates at them. Because of this the master of ceremonies role is usually limited to a line of “Ladies and Gentleman, please be upstanding for the Bride and Groom” Does this sound familiar? Have you been to a wedding where this happened. It’s dull, very generic and doesn’t create energy, excitement and passion in to the room. Yet this happens hundreds of times a week throughout the UK.
