Dry Ice – for the ultimate “dancing on the clouds” effect
I use real dry ice so the effect will be authentic and stunning. If you’ve ever seen shows like Top of the Pops, or more recently the X factor or the Voice – you will have seen dry ice in action.
Floor hugging clouds will fill the dance floor creating a real “wow” factor for your guests while you are dancing away to your chosen song. Your photographs of your stunning first dance will be a talking point for many happy years to come.
The whole effect will last for your first dance, the “WOW” factor will last the evening – but the memories and your stunning photos will last a lifetime.
The Ultimate 1st Dance experience. Using dry ice for your first dance will create a “dancing on the clouds” effect.

So what is dry ice?
When dry ice is added to warm water a dense white fog is immediately generated. The white fog is an aerosol of tiny water droplets just like fog created naturally.
What’s happening is that the very cold dry ice is subliming from solid to the gaseous phase and bubbling through the water. In so doing the CO2 gas leaves the water container which has a substantial amount of moist air above it. The cold CO2 gas condenses water molecules in the air above the container leading to the formation of tiny water droplets which are so small they stay in suspension with the gas.
The only difference between natural fog and dry ice fog is the presence of gaseous CO2 interspersed with the water droplets. CO2 gas is heavier than air and so tends to carry the white fog towards ground level creating cool effects!
The fog will cover the ground, roll down stairs, and swirl when walked through. It will not rise into light beams like glycol type fog machines and will not make a fine mist in the air like hazers. Dry ice fog has no odour, contains no chemicals, and leaves no oily residue.
A word of caution
There are very few DJ’s that have invested in the right equipment to produce this effect, and it’s not a cheap effect to create and the dry ice has to be brought in from a specialist company. So make sure if someone quotes you cheaper or offers to create this free for you please check that it is actually dry ice that they are using.
I have seen advertised on many DJ’s websites that they can create this effect, but they are using a cheap redesigned fog machine with fog machine chemicals with standard tap water ice to chill the fog chemical to keep the fog low. This is a poor effect and once the fog is disturbed, people walk through it, it warms up – it WILL rise and end up with fire alarms being activated.
